Good afternoon, leaf peepers!
Fall is a season of winter preparation. Squirrels are busy burying acorns. Birds are packing up and flying south to warmer weather. Your grownups are driving to every Target in town trying to find cozy leggings in your size (or is that just me?)
Even the trees are getting ready to slumber through the winter. They shut down chlorophyll production, which makes their leaves change from green to brilliant red, deep orange, or dusty brown. Just when it seems like they can’t get any more perfect, they drop their leaves into a big heap for you to jump into. What a season!
It’s a great time to notice the trees, and all the things that are IN trees. Trees grow seeds, nuts, fruit, sap, and flowers, and create wonderful spaces for animals, birds, and, yes, YOU to play. Take note of all the interesting things in the trees on your next walk around the neighborhood, and discover even more in Teeny Zeeny 22, Things in Trees.
Read on below for details about this month’s enclosure, a scavenger hunt and sorting game, and a theme reveal for TZ23.
