About

Teeny Zeeny is a picture book zine designed for kids age 1 and up. Sized for small hands and packed with full-color illustrations, Teeny Zeeny arrives in your mailbox each month, creating a small, special surprise kids can look forward to.

Teeny Zeeny’s mission is to spark curiosity and creativity. Children love identifying familiar objects in picture books—by offering a new collection of pictures each month, Teeny Zeeny hopes to build children’s self esteem and sense of humor by portraying familiar objects in offbeat ways. With the addition of monthly “missions” and activities like at-home scavenger hunts and matching puzzles, Teeny Zeeny will create an opportunity for young children and their grown-ups to play and problem solve together.

Tactile and small, the details of Teeny Zeeny and its packaging will encourage fine motor exploration. Each booklet measures 2.75 x 4.25 inches, the perfect size to slip in a pocket or diaper bag. Teeny Zeeny is printed with soy ink on recycled paper and individually hand-stitched (no staples!) so it is non-toxic, eco-conscious, and safe for young kids. While sturdy enough to look at again and again, Teeny Zeeny isn't a precious object—handling, scribbling, and swapping among friends are all encouraged.

Teeny Zeeny is created by Becky Nelson, a graphic designer, illustrator, and mom to 4-year-old Eva. Raised on a steady diet of Roald Dahl and puzzle mystery novels, and a former video director for some of the best comedy theaters in the world, Becky's work is infused with kindness and a quirky optimism. Teeny Zeeny is headquartered in a garage in Portland, Oregon.
