Volume 14: Winter Sports

On your mark, get set, GO!

We are in the thick of winter, and if the view is cold and dreary out your window, it may be the perfect time to curl up and read Teeny Zeeny 14, Winter Sports, while watching the Olympics... or maybe even participating in some winter sports of your own!

Don't be shy about the pace of your athletic development—most winter sports are just barely-controlled falling. Curling is one exception, basically bocce ball on skates with a household chore component. It seems like a random pursuit to this observer, but one that's been around since the 1500s and prizes good sportsmanship—The Spirit of Curling!—above all else. Hockey is... less like that, but still exciting! I like to watch figure skating for the sequins, and bobsledding for the drama, and of course I dream of one day strapping on skis and going ski joring with my dog, Crackers. What's your favorite winter game or sport?

Remember, there's no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing. So put on your warm socks. warm pants, long sleeve t-shirt, a warm sweater, snow pants, puffy, waterproof shell, waterproof mittens, scarf, hat, glacier goggles, and snow boots, and get out there!!
